  1. Even though I have read it before the suspense is killing me, trying not to tell the great great great grandies how it ends up. Son and heir thinks we should have a look at the original, and not give it back maybe. I think he has figured out, due to his continued or actual existence, that they didn't drown in an horriffic shipwreck

  2. Shipwreck was a distinct possibility in February 1881 the Nairnshire was a "Casualty" the Glasgow Herald reported 'Glasgow Ship Put Back - The Nairnshire (of Glasgow) bound for Brisbane has been towed back to Cardiff with decks swept and all 'tween deck stantions carried away.'
    On the 29th January 1883, just a couple of months before Emily's sailing, both the Glasgow Herald & Liverpool Mercury reported that the Nairnshire sailing from Rangoon grounded in a bad position on Saturday 27th at Antwerp but got off on the following tide with assistance.
